College should be a place of higher education that challenges your mind and opinions on life. While this is true for other institutions such as Georgia Tech and UGA, however, it does not apply to ABAC.
In college level classes, there is supposed to be debate between the professors and the students, yet in a class at ABAC you will find students not participating in discussions and making up excuses on why their papers are not turned in on the due date.

Thank God we have brave and clear-minded legislators like our own Sen. David Vitter.
While we are wasting our time worrying about high gas prices, the home mortgage crisis, the weakening dollar, an endless occupation in Iraq, a failing one in Afghanistan, global warming and another hurricane season - Vitter knows the real threat:
Gay marriage.

On Tuesday, Barack Obama discussed his plan to expand Bush's faith-based programs in order to help those in need. However, Obama recently stated before that he wasn't certain on his stance about the programs and would have to look into them in order to make a decision.

Much has been made by now of the Bush administration's sexed-up case for invading Iraq.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, the former Democratic presidential candidate from Ohio, went so far last month as to seek impeachment hearings against Bush for misleading the country into war on false pretenses.

Water, a little humidity and Louisiana-type heat is all you need to make it.
And by "it," I don't mean a dish you would serve your family and friends for Christmas dinner.
"It," is mold.
I received my first e-mail from one of my readers this past weekend.

Gov. Bobby Jindal vetoed legislation Monday to more than double legislators' pay. But he did so for the wrong reason.
Jindal had until July 8 to veto the bill before it became law.
So why now? And for what reason?
Could it have something to do with the recall petition filed Friday against Jindal? Or maybe the few other petitions filed against members of the Legislature? Or could it be the recent resignation of his legislative director?
It certainly wasn't that he felt his signature stamp was getting worn out.

There was a relative uproar around campus this past school year when a student was accused of killing a number of puppies and leaving them in a dumpster. There was a similar stir when the Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was found to be leading a dogfighting ring.

This week the United States Congress is debating a mortgage bailout bill that will cost this nation more than $300 billion dollars. Although the bill is receiving widespread support, I wonder if it is because it is actually a worthwhile and cost-effective bill, or because it is an expensive boondoggle that legislators will be able to bring home to show voters in the November elections.
