Saturday night, Athens legend and widely influential alternative rock band R.E.M. played the last American show of its world tour of the band's 14th album, Accelerate.

The opening acts consisted of indie rock bands Modest Mouse and The National. Because of the radical difference in the musical styles of all three bands, Atlanta's Lakewood Amphitheatre was packed with eager fans of all ages and descriptions.

The Louisiana Master Craftsmen Invitational Exhibit includes new and experienced artists from all across the state.

"In this gallery we like to show the local flair," said Marigny Armand, the gallery research assistant and Union Art Gallery Committee member.

It has 28 shows in 27 days with 26 people and one 1992 Bluebird bus that runs on vegetable oil.

It is the F Yeah Fest , which makes its sole Louisiana stop at the Spanish Moon on Wednesday. Tickets are $10.

Comedians Nick Flanagan, Josh Fadem and bands Death Set, Matt and Kim and Team Robespierre will perform.
